The University of North Carolina at Greensboro Office of Utility Operations is seeking an Fire Alarm Technician to join the team.

• Re-Post, Previous Applicants Need Not Re-Apply, Still Under Consideration This is a skilled position with responsibility to operate, maintain, repair, and upgrade, as directed, the automated fire alarm systems on campus. This position also performs hardware and software preventive maintenance, repairs, improvements and participate in an on-call rotation. 40%
• Repair of Fire Alarm Systems 40%
• Maintenance of Fire Alarm and all Safety Equipment 15%
• Record Keeping and Administration of All Testing and Inspections of Fire Protection Systems 5%

• In-House This is a mandatory position as defined in the Adverse Weather and Emergency Event policy.

Mandatory employees are expected to report to or remain at work during adverse weather and emergency events and, if deemed necessary, to work a different schedule or shift than normally assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

ASSOCIATE'S DEGREE IN ELECTRONICS

OR EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE. ALL DEGREES MUST BE RECEIVED FROM APPROPRIATELY ACCREDITED INSTITUTIONS.

Additional Required Certifications, Licensures, and Certificates:

Valid Driver's License Preferred Qualifications:

NICET Level II or higher certification in Fire Alarm Systems. Training can be provided if not certified. Factory certification by at least (2) major fire alarm manufacturers in programming and operations of their systems. Training can be provided if not certified.
