THE POSITION IN A NUTSHELL
Sciens Building Solutions is seeking a Sprinkler Helper to learn and assist with the installation and service of all forms of fire sprinkler systems and services. This is a key position for our growing team and requires someone who is interested in learning the fire sprinkler trade and a desire to start a career in the exciting and sustainable fire/life safety industry.WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
(and doing well)! Assist Sprinkler Service Technicians with coordination and installation of overhead sprinkler systems, fire pumps, standpipes, and hose systems. Attend and participate in weekly job site safety meetings. Learn and assist in reading and interpreting blueprints, to help install prefabricated fire sprinkler piping. Occasionally communicate with various contractors and trades to ensure projects stay on time and on budget. Comply with industry standard procedures and Sciens safety programs/policies.WHAT WE LIKE ABOUT YOU
High school diploma or equivalent. Desire to enroll in Sprinkler Fitter apprentice program and grow within the Fire and Life Safety industry. Self-starter; able to work independently but also demonstrate the ability to be a team player with a can-do attitude. Ability to use basic hand tools. Willing to learn how to read and comprehend blueprints, specifications, and project schedules. Willing to learn how to thread and groove pipe. Willing to travel to local job site locations. Be physically fit to perform the demanding work of the trade, including frequent lifting of up to 25 pounds, maximum occasional lifting up to 50 pounds; able to work from heights and climb ladders; standing and walking for most of the workday. Able to obtain OSHA 10 Certifications Ability to work under tight deadlines and with a sense of urgency. Able to pass background check and pre-employment drug screening. Valid driver's license & reliable transportation.WHAT WE'RE BRINGING TO THE TABLE
