Position Summary We're seeking an experienced Fire Alarm Systems Designer to join our Lebanon, NJ Fire Alarms team. In this role, you'll produce quality life safety designs that meet or exceed customer expectations and industry standards, including fire alarm, mass notification, and security alarm system designs in AutoCAD. What You'll Be Doing Design fire alarm, mass notification, and security alarm systems in AutoCAD for shop and record drawings. Communicate with customers, the Design Manager, salespeople, and project managers for status updates on assigned jobs. Perform battery and voltage drop calculations for fire alarm systems. Produce submittal packages including drawings, calculations, and datasheets for permits. Support contract sales efforts by reviewing plans, specifications, and bids for technical accuracy and best practices. Participate in weekly design meetings and job kick-off meetings when requested. Assist entry to mid-level designers when requested by the Design Manager. Maintain knowledge of the latest materials and techniques for design and installation, including industry organizations related to alarm system design or code requirements. Create and submit O&M packages, RFIs, permit drawings, documentation, and completed applications in a timely manner. Perform site surveys to gather pertinent information when necessary. What We're Looking For Required High school diploma or equivalent required. 2-5 years of experience as a fire alarm designer. Proficient in the use of AutoCAD. Ability to read blueprints and schematic drawings. Microsoft Office experience required, including Outlook, Excel, and Word. Excellent communication skills required. Ability to multitask successfully. Must have a valid driver's license and pass pre-employment drug screening and background checks. Preferred Bachelor's degree preferred. NICET Fire Alarm Systems Level III or higher. Delaware Fire Alarm License Holder preferred. VESDA design capability preferred. Experience reviewing plans, specifications, bids, drawings, documentation, and permitting requirements preferred.
