Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Journeyman Security Technician to join a growing team specializing in the installation, maintenance, and service of integrated security and low-voltage systems. This position is ideal for a motivated technician who enjoys leading projects, mentoring junior team members, and delivering high-quality work across commercial and institutional environments. Youll be responsible for installing and servicing a variety of electronic security systems, including access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, and other low-voltage technologies while ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable codes and standards. Primary Responsibilities Install, terminate, and test low-voltage cabling and electronic security devices. Install conduit, pull cable, and complete trim-out of security system components. Perform installation, programming, testing, troubleshooting, and repair of integrated security systems. Inspect systems to diagnose issues and perform necessary repairs or upgrades. Ensure conduit installations and electrical work comply with local and national codes. Lead and mentor technicians and apprentices on installation projects. Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation. Coordinate with project managers and customers to ensure successful project completion. Maintain accurate documentation of work performed and completed installations. Perform other duties as assigned to support project and customer needs. Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED. Active Oregon LEA License. Ability to successfully pass a criminal background check. Experience installing and servicing commercial electronic security or low-voltage systems. Ability to lead crews and oversee complex installation projects. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience with enterprise access control platforms such as Lenel. Industry experience in electronic security, life safety, or low-voltage integration. Basic computer proficiency and familiarity with programming security systems. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to safely operate hand and power tools. Experience wiring, testing, and troubleshooting relay logic and low-voltage control circuits. Excellent communication and customer service skills.
