Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic team as a Fire Alarm Technician and become a vital part of ensuring safety and security across commercial and industrial facilities. In this energetic role, you will be responsible for installing, inspecting, maintaining, and repairing fire alarm systems to meet strict safety standards. Your mechanical aptitude, electrical experience, and attention to detail will drive successful system performance, safeguarding lives and property. Duties Install fire alarm systems according to blueprints, schematics, and system design specifications using hand tools, power tools, and CAD drawings. Conduct routine inspections and testing of fire alarm components including sensors, control panels, and notification devices to ensure optimal operation. Troubleshoot electrical issues, low voltage wiring, and sensor malfunctions using electrical experience and schematics for accurate diagnosis. Perform system upgrades, repairs, and maintenance in compliance with NEC (National Electrical Code) standards and fire safety regulations. Collaborate with construction teams during new builds or renovations to ensure fire alarm systems are integrated seamlessly into the overall building infrastructure. Document all service activities thoroughly through detailed reports, logs, and service records. Provide exceptional field service support by responding promptly to system alarms or service requests while maintaining safety protocols. Requirements Proven experience as a fire alarm technician or service technician with knowledge of fire alarm systems and low voltage wiring. MUST have a valid PA drivers license. Mechanical knowledge combined with construction inspection experience to coordinate installation activities effectively. Familiarity with fire sprinkler fitting, sensors, alarms sales (fire alarm sales), and construction processes is highly desirable. Strong electrical experience including wiring practices aligned with NEC standards; familiarity with power tools and hand tools essential. Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose issues efficiently on-site in diverse environments. Valid certifications related to fire alarm systems or electrical work are preferred; ongoing training encouraged to stay current with industry standards. $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
