3+ years commercial low-voltage experience preferred - Structured Cabling, Access Control & Fire Alarm Job Overview We are looking for an experienced 3+ years commercial low-voltage experience preferred capable of working independently and leading commercial low-voltage installations. Our work includes structured cabling, fiber, CCTV, access control, fire alarm, and related commercial low-voltage systems. This position is for someone who can read prints, plan their work, install systems correctly, troubleshoot problems, and help lead other technicians when needed. You do not need to be an expert in every system. Strong commercial low-voltage experience is required, and additional experience with access control, fire alarm, CCTV, or fiber will increase your value and starting pay. Responsibilities Install Cat6/Cat6A structured cabling, fiber optic cabling, racks, patch panels, jacks, and related infrastructure Terminate, label, test, and document copper and fiber installations Install and troubleshoot CCTV cameras and associated cabling Install access control systems including card readers, electric strikes, maglocks, DPS, REX devices, power supplies, and associated wiring Install fire alarm cable and devices including initiating and notification devices Perform fire alarm device termination and basic troubleshooting Read construction drawings, low-voltage plans, riser diagrams, device schedules, and specifications Install pathway supports including J-hooks, bridle rings, beam clamps, and other approved supports Troubleshoot cabling and equipment using appropriate testing equipment Coordinate work with electricians, general contractors, IT personnel, and other trades Maintain clean and professional installations Complete required jobsite documentation, testing reports, and photos Lead helpers and technicians when assigned Maintain jobsite safety and follow applicable NEC and project requirements Experience We Are Looking For Strong experience in one or more of the following: Commercial structured cabling Cat5e, Cat6, and Cat6A Fiber optic installation and termination Fiber splicing Fluke or similar cable certification/testing Access control

camera systems Fire alarm installation Telecom rooms, MDFs, and IDFs Rack and patch-panel installation Reading commercial construction drawings Troubleshooting low-voltage systems Requirements Commercial low-voltage installation experience Ability to work independently without constant supervision Ability to read prints and understand job scope Strong troubleshooting skills Experience using common hand and power tools Ability to work from ladders and aerial lifts Ability to work on active commercial construction sites Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Ability to communicate professionally with customers, contractors, and other trades Willingness to travel locally and occasionally outside the immediate area depending on project requirements Preferred Qualifications Experience leading low-voltage crews Access control installation experience Fire alarm installation experience Fiber splicing experience Fluke testing/certification experience OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Lift certification Manufacturer certifications or industry certifications such as BICSI or NICET What We Value! Pay is based on actual field experience, technical ability, leadership capability, and the systems you can independently install and troubleshoot.

Pay:

$22.50 - $45.00 per hour
