Job Description:

We are seeking a Lead Fire Alarm Technician to support the growth of a commercial installation team in the Knoxville market. This individual will play a key role in installing, configuring, servicing, troubleshooting, and repairing fire alarm and low-voltage systems while acting as a hands-on leader on job sites. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys taking ownership onsite, mentoring junior technicians, and working on large-scale commercial projects.

Responsibilities:

Lead onsite installation, start-up, and commissioning of fire alarm systems Perform troubleshooting and service on: Fire Alarm Systems Access Control Systems CCTV Nurse Call and Intercom systems Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and design documents Communicate project updates, challenges, and timelines to leadership and clients Lead and mentor a team of 2-4 technicians or helpers onsite Identify and escalate installation or system issues as needed Perform inspections to ensure systems meet code requirements Complete detailed service and project reports Respond to emergency service calls as needed Maintain strong safety, quality, and productivity standards onsite

Qualifications:

Experience working with low-voltage systems (fire alarm, access control, CCTV, etc.) Strong troubleshooting and technical problem-solving skills Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Comfortable using hand tools, meters, and lifts Ability to carry ladders (8'+) and work at heights as needed Strong communication skills (written and verbal) Ability to follow technical instructions and documentation

Work Environment:

Large-scale commercial construction and installation projects Field-based role across the Knoxville, TN area Schedule may vary based on project needs Participation in a rotating on-call schedule may be required Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Alcoa, TN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $29.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
