Job Description

7234 HWY 277 S, Bldg. D, Abilene, TX 79606 12-Volt Public Safety Installer / Upfitter Experience with Installation of Emergency Lighting Desired, but not Required Pay Rate for Qualified Candidates - $19 to $21 Pay Rate is Dependent on Experience Texas Communications needs to hire a 12-Volt Public Safety Installer / Upfitter whose primary responsibilities are listed below. Texas Communications will provide industry specific training for the right candidates.
Hours of Operation:
Monday- Friday. Some weekend work may be applicable for large projects .
Responsibilities:
Work on police, public safety and other vehicles for both local and federal accounts. Install, repair, test, and remove 12-volt law enforcement vehicle equipment, including, but not limited to light bars, flashers, sirens, video cameras, laptops, printers, consoles, transport partitions, equipment boxes, radios, speakers, antennas, routers, and more.
Requirements:
Experience with installation of emergency lighting desired, but not required Automotive or marine 12v experience is a plus. Must be able to perform physically demanding tasks that may require access to confined spaces to modify the vehicles to the client's requirements. ASA Certified Mechanic preferred but not required Knowledge of vehicle wiring Able to identify electrical circuits Able to communicate well with others Able to work on and see small objects Good hearing and color vision Be prompt and prepared to work Lift 50 pounds to waist level Emergency Vehicle Technician (EVT) Certification is desired, but not required upon hire but must be obtained within 3 months to continue employment All applicants are required to demonstrate the ability to pass all pre-employment testing to include background checks, MVR, pre-employment drug screening and be able to present a valid driver's license Please upload your resume and complete the online assessment Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship and be a current resident We offer: Generous pay plan Medical Insurance 401(k) retirement plan Paid vacation and holidays EOE/Qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability or protected veteran status.
