Responsibilities Install fire alarm systems including sensors, control panels, and wiring in accordance with fire codes, NFPA standards, and building regulations Conduct routine maintenance, testing, and inspections of fire alarm systems to ensure optimal performance Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, electrical blueprints, and CAD drawings for system design and installation planning Troubleshoot complex electrical issues using voltmeters, power tools, and engineering troubleshooting techniques Perform system upgrades or modifications to meet evolving safety standards or customer requirements Collaborate with construction teams during new builds or renovations to ensure fire alarm integration aligns with project specifications Maintain detailed documentation of inspections, repairs, system modifications, and compliance reports Experience Proven experience working with fire alarm systems including proprietary control panels and sensors Strong mechanical knowledge combined with electrical experience related to low voltage wiring and electrical work Familiarity with blueprint reading—both electrical blueprints and schematics—and system design principles Hands-on experience with field service tasks such as installation, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of fire alarm systems Knowledge of building code compliance standards including NFPA 72 (National Fire Protection Association) standards and NEC (National Electrical Code) regulations Ability to use hand tools, power tools, voltmeters, and other testing equipment effectively in a fast-paced environment Customer service skills to communicate clearly with clients about system status or required repairs This role is ideal for motivated professionals eager to apply their technical skills in a fast-growing industry dedicated to safety.
