In this vital role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, inspecting, and repairing fire alarm systems across various commercial and industrial properties. Your expertise will ensure that fire alarm systems operate flawlessly, meet all building codes and fire safety regulations, and provide reliable protection for occupants. Duties Install fire alarm systems according to blueprints, schematics, and engineering specifications using hand tools, power tools, and CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software. Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on fire alarm systems to ensure optimal operation and compliance with NFPA (National Fire Protection Association) standards. Troubleshoot complex electrical issues related to low voltage wiring, sensors, proprietary fire alarm control panels, and associated components using electrical blueprint reading and engineering troubleshooting skills. Perform system testing, calibration, and system design modifications to enhance system performance or meet updated fire codes and regulations. Collaborate with construction teams during new builds or renovations to ensure fire alarm system integration aligns with building code compliance and sprinkler system coordination. Provide detailed documentation of work performed, including schematics updates, inspection reports, and compliance records. Offer excellent customer service by explaining system functions to clients, training staff on basic operations, and addressing any concerns promptly. Experience Proven experience in fire alarm system installation, maintenance, or service technician roles within construction or building management environments. Strong knowledge of fire alarm systems including sensors, proprietary control panels, and related low voltage electrical work. Familiarity with blueprint reading—both electrical blueprints and construction schematics—and CAD software for system design modifications. Construction inspection experience is highly desirable to understand building code compliance thoroughly. Mechanical knowledge related to sprinkler systems and fire sprinkler fitting enhances overall system integration skills. Hands-on experience with field service operations involving troubleshooting electrical issues using NEC (National Electrical Code) standards. Customer service background demonstrating effective communication skills when working directly with clients or building occupants.
