In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, inspection, and repair of fire alarm systems across various commercial and industrial buildings. Your expertise will ensure that fire alarm systems operate reliably and comply with all relevant fire codes, NFPA standards, and building regulations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge proprietary fire alarm control panels, sensors, and low voltage electrical systems, contributing directly to the safety and security of our clients' facilities. Responsibilities Install, test, troubleshoot, and repair fire alarm systems including proprietary control panels, sensors, and associated components. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, electrical blueprints, and construction drawings to accurately execute system design specifications. Conduct routine fire alarm system maintenance and inspections to ensure ongoing compliance with NFPA standards and local fire codes. Perform system upgrades and modifications in accordance with engineering troubleshooting procedures and building code requirements. Utilize hand tools, power tools, voltmeters, and other testing equipment to diagnose electrical issues within low voltage fire alarm circuits. Collaborate with construction teams during new installations or renovations to ensure proper integration of fire alarm systems with sprinkler systems and other building safety features. Maintain detailed records of all service activities, inspections, repairs, and system modifications for compliance documentation. Provide exceptional customer service by explaining system functions to clients and ensuring their understanding of fire alarm system operation and maintenance needs. Skills Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, electrical diagrams, and construction plans related to fire alarm systems. Strong knowledge of fire alarm systems including proprietary control panels, sensors, alarms, and annunciation devices. Experience with CAD (Computer-Aided Design) for system layout planning is a plus. Familiarity with building code compliance requirements related to fire safety standards such as NFPA 72 (National Fire Protection Association) standards. Mechanical knowledge relevant to sprinkler systems installation and integration is advantageous. Hands-on experience using hand tools, power tools, voltmeters, multimeters, and other electrical testing equipment. Understanding of low voltage electrical work within the context of fire alarm systems and building wiring codes (NEC). Ability to perform construction inspection tasks ensuring adherence to fire codes and safety regulations. Excellent problem-solving skills for engineering troubleshooting of complex electrical or sensor issues. Strong customer service orientation with the ability to communicate technical information clearly. Education, Certifications, Licences and Skills

REQUIREMENTS

State certified Fire Alarm License (Texas FAL) State certified Fire Extinguisher License (Texas FEL-B) preferred NICET Certification and Journeyman electrician's license is a plus. Must possess at least a High School diploma or GED equivalency, Associates degree preferred Work history must contain minimum five years' experience in fire alarm industry Must be highly competent with a computer, knowledge of RS232, RS485, Ethernet, TCP/IP protocols, and be able comprehend software programs for the required systems Must be able to pass a background check for an Alarm Agent License or have a current Alarm Agent License Drug and physical test are required Possession of system certifications from various manufacturers a plus.
