Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic team as a Security Installation and Field Service Technician where your expertise will be vital in designing, installing, and maintaining cutting-edge security systems and networks that protect assets and ensure safety. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with a variety of low-voltage electrical systems, surveillance equipment, and access control solutions. You will be the key technical support for our clients, delivering high-quality service and innovative security solutions that meet their unique needs. Responsibilities Install, configure, and troubleshoot security systems including alarms, access control, CCTV surveillance, sensors, and intrusion detection systems (IDS). Install and terminate Cat 6 cabling for networks. Interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately wire low-voltage electrical systems. Conduct system design assessments to ensure optimal placement of sensors, cameras, and alarm components for maximum security coverage. Perform routine maintenance and repairs on security systems and networks using hand tools and power tools; troubleshoot issues related to cabling, networking, and hardware components. Integrate door security systems with existing access control infrastructure; ensure seamless operation of remote access software and alarm systems. Provide exceptional customer service by explaining system features, troubleshooting problems on-site, and supporting clients with technical questions or system upgrades. Skills Strong mechanical knowledge combined with experience in Cat 6 cabling and low-voltage systems. Proven field service experience installing and troubleshooting security equipment such as CCTV cameras, sensors, fire alarms, and access control systems. Proficiency in computer hardware setup, network configuration, and understanding of computer networking principles related to security systems. Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints accurately for system installation and troubleshooting. Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, cabling techniques, and NEC standards to ensure safe and compliant installations. Experience with alarm & access control system sales or customer-facing service roles is a plus.
