NICET II
Fire Alarm Technician to perform fire-alarm testing, inspection, troubleshooting, maintenance, and approved repairs at a single site. This is a full-time position with a consistent 40-hour workweek, travel one week per year. The Responsibilities Perform scheduled fire-alarm system testing and inspections in accordance with NFPA standards, manufacturer requirements, contract requirements, and applicable codes. Identify, diagnose, and clearly document system deficiencies, faults, and impairments. Complete authorized maintenance, repairs, component replacement, and limited installation work within the scope of the position. Verify the operation of control panels, initiating devices, notification appliances, supervisory devices, interfaces, and monitoring communications. Prepare accurate inspection reports, test records, deficiency documentation, and service notes. Communicate professionally with the customer, site representatives, supervisors, and other technicians. Follow all TPS, JBLM, federal-site, OSHA, and job-specific safety and security requirements, including AHAs and required documentation.
The Necessities Required:
Active NICET Level II certification in Fire Alarm Systems on the first day of employment. Two or more years of hands-on experience testing, inspecting, maintaining, troubleshooting, or installing commercial fire-alarm systems. Washington electrical certification or trainee status appropriate to the work being performed. Working knowledge of NFPA 72, applicable NEC requirements, fire-alarm drawings, wiring diagrams, and manufacturer documentation. Ability to use meters, test equipment, hand tools, and system software safely and effectively. Strong documentation, organization, customer-service, and problem-solving skills. Ability to obtain and maintain access to JBLM and comply with site security requirements. Pay Range is $38 - 44$ per hour for well-qualified candidates. What TPS offers Healthcare benefits. Work environment and physical requirements This field-based role at JBLM requires use of tools, test equipment, computers, ladders, and personal protective equipment. The employee may stand, walk, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; distinguish wire and indicator colors; and occasionally lift up to 50 - 75 pounds, using assistance or equipment when appropriate.
