Overview Join our dynamic team as a Low Voltage Technician and become a vital part of delivering cutting-edge security, communication, and automation solutions. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing low voltage systems across various commercial and residential settings. Your expertise will ensure seamless operation of security alarms, CCTV surveillance, fire alarm systems, access control, and telecommunication networks. Duties Install, configure, and troubleshoot low voltage systems including security alarms, CCTV cameras, sensors, fire alarms, access control systems, and telecommunication cabling. Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to accurately complete system installations. Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on existing low voltage infrastructure to ensure optimal performance. Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively during installation and repair tasks. Perform system testing using remote access software and diagnostic tools to verify proper operation. Collaborate with construction teams during new builds or renovations to integrate low voltage systems seamlessly into building infrastructure. Document all work performed with detailed reports, including system configurations and troubleshooting steps. Skills Strong knowledge of computer networking principles and protocols essential for system integration. Mechanical aptitude combined with experience using power tools and hand tools for precise installations. Proven field service experience working on security systems, surveillance cameras (CCTV), sensors, fire alarms, and access control devices. Ability to read electrical schematics and technical diagrams accurately. Familiarity with NEC (National Electrical Code) standards related to low voltage wiring practices. Experience with system design concepts for security infrastructure and telecommunication cabling projects. Proficiency in working with remote access software for diagnostics and system management. Knowledge of IDS (Intrusion Detection Systems), sensors, alarm systems sales techniques, locksmithing basics, and construction site requirements. Electrical experience including cabling techniques for low voltage wiring projects. Ability to operate power tools safely while adhering to safety protocols in construction environments.
