Body Shop Technician | Mobile, AL

Key Responsibilities Perform body shop repairs, vehicle preparation, and "make-ready" processes for trucks and equipment Complete body work in compliance with company standards, manufacturer guidelines, and state/federal regulations Repair or replace vehicle components (including panels and structural parts) Maintain accurate repair documentation and records Inspect work to ensure safety, quality, and customer satisfaction standards are met Follow all safety procedures and properly use shop equipment and tools Mechanically inclined with the ability to diagnose damage, troubleshoot repair needs, and determine effective repair solutions. Experience performing heavy-duty truck, diesel truck, automotive, and/or aviation body repairs, including metal fabrication, panel replacement, dent repair, body filler application, and surface preparation. Skilled in the safe operation of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and body shop machinery. Ability to read and interpret repair orders, work instructions, and technical specifications. Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality workmanship and safety standards. Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and web-based maintenance or repair systems. Effective communication skills and the ability to work independently or collaboratively in a team environment. Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record required. Preferred Qualifications Experience with heavy-duty truck body repair, diesel truck collision repair, frame repair, structural repairs, and truck body fabrication. Welding experience (MIG, TIG, and/or stick welding) preferred. Experience performing frame alignment, straightening, and structural repair work. Familiarity with Freightliner, Western Star, and other Class 6-8 commercial trucks. Previous experience in commercial truck dealerships, fleet maintenance operations, collision centers, or heavy equipment repair facilities. Knowledge of truck refinishing, paint preparation, panel replacement, and collision repair processes.
