Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Auto Body Prepper to join our dynamic automotive repair team. In this role, you will be the first line of preparation for vehicle refinishing, ensuring surfaces are properly cleaned, sanded, masked, and primed to achieve flawless paint finishes. Your expertise will help deliver high-quality auto body repairs that exceed customer expectations. Duties Prepare vehicle surfaces by sanding, grinding, and cleaning to ensure optimal paint adhesion and finish quality Mask off areas not to be painted using surface preparation masking techniques for precise results Use hand tools, power tools, grinders, and sanders to remove rust, dents, and old paint from vehicle bodies Mix and apply primers, paints, coatings, and spray finishes using conventional spray guns and airless paint spraying equipment Perform auto body repairs including minor panel straightening and surface refinishing to restore vehicles to their original condition Conduct automotive buffing and polishing to achieve smooth, glossy finishes on painted surfaces Maintain a clean and organized workspace while adhering to safety protocols such as respiratory protection standards Requirements Prior dealership or automotive repair shop experience is highly preferred Proficiency with welding techniques used in auto body repair and surface preparation Strong mechanical knowledge of vehicle systems and auto maintenance procedures Experience with auto body repair processes including sanding, buffing, painting, and coating spray guns Ability to operate various hand tools, power tools, grinders, and auto glass removal equipment safely and effectively Knowledge of automotive surface preparation, masking techniques, and auto restoration procedures Familiarity with automotive buffing machines and detailing tools for finishing touches Understanding of paints, primers, coatings, and the proper use of spray guns for auto painting applications Ability to lift heavy parts safely during repairs and restorations Commitment to safety practices including respiratory protection when working with paints or chemicals Excellent customer service skills for interacting with clients regarding vehicle repairs and estimates Join our team as an Auto Body Prepper where your skills will directly contribute to delivering outstanding vehicle restorations!
