Duties Perform comprehensive auto body repairs, including dent removal, sheet metal work, and structural realignment using welding repair techniques such as MIG welding and soldering. Utilize fabrication skills to create custom parts or modify existing components for vehicle restoration or repair projects. Conduct auto painting and refinishing using airless paint spraying equipment, sanding tools, and automotive cosmetic repair techniques to achieve a flawless finish. Install automotive parts such as glass, trim, bumpers, and other components with precision using hand tools and power tools. Repair or replace damaged auto body panels, perform automotive structural repairs, and ensure proper assembly of vehicle components. Use automotive welding equipment for structural reinforcement or repair tasks, ensuring safety standards are met. Assist with vehicle maintenance tasks including auto glass replacement, detailing, and general mechanical troubleshooting when needed. Follow auto estimating procedures to assess damage accurately and communicate repair needs effectively with customers and team members. Uphold safety protocols during heavy lifting, use of power tools, welding operations, and other physically demanding tasks to maintain a safe work environment. Experience Proven experience working as an automotive body technician in a dealership or collision center setting is highly preferred. Strong background in auto body repair techniques including auto restoration, dent repair, sheet metal fabrication, and automotive cosmetic refinishing. Skilled in MIG welding, soldering, fabrication repair techniques, and the use of automotive welding equipment. Familiarity with auto painting processes such as airless paint spraying and sanding tools for finishing touches. Mechanical knowledge related to vehicle maintenance, parts installation, and general automotive repair is advantageous. Experience working with auto estimating software and customer service skills to provide clear communication throughout the repair process.
