This position is responsible for performing high-quality cosmetic, body, frame, and structural repairs in accordance with manufacturer specifications and industry standards. The ideal candidate has extensive collision repair experience, understands modern vehicle construction and repair procedures, and takes pride in restoring vehicles to pre-accident condition with an emphasis on safety, structural integrity, fit, finish, and quality . Responsibilities Perform collision-related body and structural repairs on a wide range of vehicles. Diagnose and evaluate visible and hidden collision damage. Perform structural and frame repairs using approved measuring and straightening equipment. Measure vehicle structures before, during, and after repairs to verify proper dimensions. Follow OEM repair procedures and manufacturer specifications for structural and non-structural repairs. Repair or replace damaged body panels, structural components, quarter panels, rails, pillars, aprons, and other vehicle components. Perform panel replacement, sectioning, and structural component replacement when permitted by manufacturer procedures. Perform MIG/MAG welding, spot welding, MIG brazing, riveting, bonding, and other manufacturer-approved joining methods. Properly prepare mating surfaces and apply weld-through primer, adhesives, seam sealers, corrosion protection, and cavity wax as required. Perform aluminum repairs when properly trained and equipped. Complete metal straightening, dent repair, panel alignment, and bodywork. Properly fit and align doors, hoods, fenders, bumpers, quarter panels, deck lids, and other exterior components. Perform necessary vehicle disassembly and reassembly related to collision repairs. Identify supplemental damage and communicate additional repair needs to estimators and management before proceeding. Review estimates, repair plans, and work orders to ensure all required repairs are completed. Document repairs as required, including measurements, photographs, OEM procedures, and supporting documentation. Coordinate with estimators, painters, prep technicians, mechanical technicians, parts personnel, and production management throughout the repair process. Perform quality-control inspections throughout the repair process. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Properly maintain and operate frame machines, welders, measuring systems, hand tools, power tools, and other body repair equipment. Follow all OSHA, environmental, hazardous-material, and shop safety requirements. Meet production expectations while maintaining exceptional repair quality. Structural Repair Responsibilities The technician must understand that structural repairs directly affect vehicle safety and crashworthiness .

Responsibilities include:

Identifying structural versus cosmetic damage. Measuring and analyzing structural damage using appropriate electronic or mechanical measuring systems. Determining appropriate repair versus replacement procedures based on OEM requirements. Restoring structural dimensions to manufacturer specifications. Following manufacturer requirements regarding heat limitations, sectioning locations, welding procedures, adhesives, fasteners, and replacement components. Performing test fits and measurements throughout the repair process. Ensuring corrosion protection and seam sealing are restored following structural repairs. Recognizing when ADAS components, sensors, suspension mounting points, or other systems may require additional inspection, calibration, or mechanical diagnosis following structural repairs. Qualifications Previous professional automotive collision and body repair experience required. Structural/frame repair experience strongly preferred. Strong understanding of modern unibody and vehicle construction. Knowledge of OEM collision repair procedures and repair methodology. Experience with frame machines and vehicle measuring systems. Welding and panel-replacement experience required. Ability to perform high-quality metal finishing and bodywork. Experience repairing aluminum, high-strength steel, ultra-high-strength steel, and other modern vehicle materials is highly desirable. Experience with luxury, exotic, European, or high-performance vehicles is a plus. I-CAR and/or manufacturer certifications are preferred. Ability to read and understand estimates, repair orders, structural measurements, and OEM repair procedures. Strong attention to detail and commitment to safe, high-quality repairs. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced collision repair environment. Dependable, organized, and capable of working independently and as part of a team. Valid driver's license preferred. Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods. Ability to bend, kneel, crouch, reach, push, and pull while working around vehicles. Ability to lift and maneuver automotive parts, panels, tools, and equipment as required. Ability to safely operate welding, cutting, pulling, measuring, and repair equipment. Ability to wear required personal protective equipment.
