Job Title:
Body Shop Technician Job Description As a Body Shop Technician, you will perform high-quality auto body repairs on trucks and specialty vehicles. Your tasks will include fiberglass repairs on body panels and components, paint preparation including sanding, masking, priming, and surface correction, and applying paint and finishes to meet shop and customer quality standards. Additionally, you will repair or replace damaged body parts and components, maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area, and communicate effectively with shop management regarding job progress and vehicle needs while following OSHA and shop safety standards at all times. Responsibilities Perform high-quality auto body repairs on trucks and specialty vehicles. Complete fiberglass repairs, including body panels and components. Handle paint preparation, including sanding, masking, priming, and surface correction. Apply paint and finishes to meet shop and customer quality standards. Repair or replace damaged body parts and components. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area. Communicate effectively with shop management regarding job progress and vehicle needs. Follow OSHA and shop safety standards at all times. Essential Skills Proficiency with power tools. Auto body repair experience. Ability to work from 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM, with most days starting at 7:30 AM. Willingness to work Monday through Friday with some overtime during the week. Must bring personal tools. Additional Skills & Qualifications Diesel mechanic knowledge or experience is strongly preferred. Experience working in or with a vehicle detail shop. Familiarity with fleet work or commercial vehicles. Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently. Why Work Here? Work Environment The work environment is an outside mechanic shop that can be loud, dirty, and subject to hot or cold temperatures. The dress code is casual, and the role requires physical activity in various weather conditions. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Savannah, GA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
