Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Collision Repair Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate would have experience in various repair techniques, including auto restoration and welding. This role requires a commitment to delivering high-quality standards and exceptional pride in their workmanship.
Essential Job Duties:
  • Complete dis-assembly of vehicles to assess damage and prepare a 100% Repair Plan in collaboration with Service Estimators.
  • Identify all necessary repairs to eliminate supplements and minimize repair time.
  • Follow work order instructions for all repair operations.
  • Repair damaged body parts by hammering out or filling in dents, welding broken parts, ensuring proper gaps and fits, and replacing damaged fenders, panels, and grills.
  • Utilize a variety of hand and power tools (e.g., welder, soldering equipment, cutting torch, blocks, hammers, wrenches, sander, spray guns, etc.).
  • File, grind, and sand repaired surfaces before transferring the vehicle to the Paint Department.
  • Repair or replace defective parts as needed.
  • Inspect and test drive repaired vehicles to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards. Wash and prepare vehicles for customer return.
  • Adhere to all safety rules, guidelines, and standards.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned, such as washing cars and cleaning the shop.
Skill/Requirements:
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years proven experience.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to read and understand instructions, written estimates, and work orders.
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Personable and friendly demeanor with a strong customer service approach.
  • Strong team-oriented mindset: Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with all team members for a cohesive and productive work environment.
Physical Requirements /
Working Conditions:
  • Position is based in a typical Autobody shop environment.
  • Occasional physical activity, including reaching, kneeling, bending, squatting, and stooping to inspect repairs, and lifting and carrying objects over 50 lbs.
  • Exposure to fumes, chemicals, dust, and high levels of noise.
  • Required to wear protective equipment when necessary.
  • Occasional sedentary work.
  • Must have visual acuity to ensure accuracy and thoroughness of assigned work.
