Job Duties:
Incumbent serves as an advanced-level worker performing the most complex body/paint repairs on vehicles, equipment, parts, and metal fabrications. Removes all dents, scratches, pits, and dimples in damaged body sections using metal cutting tools, air grinders, wrenches, welding and acetylene torch equipment, pick hammers and punches to straighten and repair body damage. Remove upholstery, electrical accessories, windows and seats, operating equipment, trim, headlights, bumpers, and grills in order to gain access to vehicle bodies and fenders. Replaces windows, door latches, door hinges, and weather stripping. Removes and installs external safety lights, grill guards, running boards, toolboxes to vehicles and equipment. Incumbent must have knowledge of Mixing paint, reducer, and hardener ratios, and paint matching according to paint manufacturer 'recommendations in relation to body condition, temperature and humidity. May perform light mechanic work to assist shop mechanics or to complete assignments. Properly maintains tools, equipment, keeping work area clean, organized, and in good working order.Position-Specific Details:
The incumbent is required to possess the following specialized knowledge, skills, abilities, as well as to maintain the following licensing and operate the following equipment: Valid driver's license at time of appointment Operate a state owned vehicle Perform duties in extreme weather conditions such as rain, cold, or heat Submit to random drug testing as requiredAppointment Type:
