Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled Body Repair Technician with extensive experience working on heavy-duty trucks and buses —not passenger vehicles. This position is responsible for performing structural and body repairs to restore commercial vehicles to safe, operational, and pre-damage condition.
The ideal candidate has a strong background in collision repair, metal fabrication, and structural alignment specific to heavy-duty equipment. Key Responsibilities Perform body and structural repairs on heavy-duty trucks and buses Diagnose vehicle damage and create accurate repair plans Repair or replace damaged panels, frames, and structural components Operate heavy-duty repair equipment including frame machines, welders, hydraulic tools, and alignment systems Conduct metal fabrication and welding as needed for repairs Measure and restore vehicle frames and structures to manufacturer specifications Remove and reinstall panels, doors, and related components Ensure all work meets safety, DOT, and industry standards Work collaboratively with technicians and shop management to complete repairs efficiently Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace Qualifications & Requirements Minimum of 10 years of experience in heavy-duty body repair (trucks, buses, or commercial vehicles required) Strong experience with collision repair and structural/frame work Proficiency in welding and metal fabrication techniques Knowledge of heavy-duty vehicle construction and repair standards Ability to read and interpret repair estimates and technical manuals Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship Ability to work independently and in a team environment Valid driver's license required Preferred Qualifications Experience with commercial fleet or transit bus repair Familiarity with DOT compliance and safety standards Certification (I-CAR, ASE, or equivalent) is a plus but not required Compensation & Benefits Full-time position Competitive pay based on experience Health, dental, and vision insurance Paid time off (PTO) Opportunities for advancement Stable, high-demand industry position Why Join Us?
