Auto Body Technician Car Center - 4.3 Grand Rapids, MI Job Details 20 hours ago Qualifications Vehicle inspections Equipment safety procedures Maintaining an organized workspace Automotive cosmetic repair Servicing vehicles Visual inspections for vehicle diagnostics Vehicle cleanliness maintenance Safety regulations Corrective maintenance operations Mid-level Visual inspection for vehicle damage 3 years Maintenance activity documentation Automotive welding equipment Equipment malfunction response Fabrication repair techniques Automotive service record keeping Clean workspace maintenance Automotive structural repair Hazardous waste disposal Hazardous materials regulations Full Job Description Essential Duties and Responsibilities The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following: Repair damaged body parts and bodies of vehicles in accordance with factory and dealership specifications Stay up to date on the latest repair methods and techniques Perform all body and fender repairs according to estimate and supplement as necessary Perform work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy Perform welding and collision repair work Diagnose the cause of malfunction and perform needed repair Communicate with parts department to obtain needed parts Examine vehicle to determine if additional safety or service work is required Advise Body Shop Manager if additional work is needed Is familiar with the latest technical bulletins, service manuals and other service publications Operate all equipment in Body Shop in a safe and productive manner Maintain stall in an orderly and clean manner Use discretion in using company materials and supplies Ensure customer's cars are kept clean Document all work performed as soon as the job is completed Understands and follow federal, state and local regulations, such as the disposal of hazardous waste Will secure permission from management and write up an RO before doing any work on personal vehicle Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities) State of Michigan License/Certification Ability to be ICAR Certified (ICAR experience preferred) 3-5+ Years Experience Physical Demands and Work Environment The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
