Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic automotive team as an Assistant Body Shop Estimator and play a vital role in delivering exceptional collision repair and vehicle service experiences. In this energetic position, you will support the estimating process by assessing vehicle damage, communicating effectively with customers and technicians, and ensuring accurate documentation. Your customer service skills, and familiarity with estimating software will help streamline operations and enhance customer satisfaction. Communicate clearly with customers to explain repair estimates, process insurance claims, and answer questions about vehicle repairs. Support the scheduling of repairs and coordinate with technicians to ensure timely completion of work. Upsell additional services such as oil changes, tire services, alignments, or suspension repairs to maximize shop revenue. Maintain detailed records of estimates, repair orders, and client interactions while ensuring accuracy and completeness and file customer records and repair documents. Handle cash transactions or payments related to supplemental repairs or services when necessary. Write walk-in vehicle damage estimates. Manage the shop's loaner fleet for customers without rental coverage. Distribute updated repair orders (ROs) to technicians promptly. Monitor accounts receivable and follow up with insurance companies for outstanding payments. Assist the team with ordering correct auto parts from suppliers. Coordinate vehicle availability, track schedules, and collect required liability and driver documentation. Create and manage repair orders in CCC One, following insurance and manufacturer guidelines from start to finish. Build and maintain positive relationships with local vendors and insurance adjusters. Schedule appointments for vehicle drop-offs and estimates. Provide regular updates to customers on repair statuses. Review final paperwork and warranties with customers upon vehicle pickup.Experience & Licensing Industry Experience :
Experience working in a dealership environment or auto service management setting is a plus.Collision Experience :
Previous experience in auto body estimating or collision repair is preferred, but not necessary.Valid Driver's License :
Clean driving record required; driving may be necessary for vehicle inspections or test drives.Software Experience :
Proficiency or familiarity with CCC ONE and DealerTrack programs is a strong advantage.Organization & Tech Skills :
Strong multi-tasking skills with comfort using computers, printers, and office equipment.
