Job Description

Body Shop Paint Helper Job Summary Elizabeth City GMC Collision Center is looking for a dependable, motivated Body Shop Paint Helper to join our collision repair team. This position assists the painter by preparing vehicles and parts for painting while helping maintain a clean, safe, and efficient work environment. No previous paint experience is required. We are willing to train the right individual who has a strong work ethic, positive attitude, and willingness to learn. Responsibilities Prepare vehicle surfaces for painting by sanding, cleaning, masking, and taping. Clean and degrease panels before primer and paint application. Assist the painter with vehicle and parts preparation. Maintain a clean paint booth, mixing room, and surrounding work area. Keep tools, equipment, and supplies organized. Move vehicles and parts safely throughout the shop. Follow all shop safety procedures and wear required PPE. Work with the collision repair team to maintain an efficient workflow. Qualifications Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record. Dependable with excellent attendance. Strong attention to detail. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Willingness to learn new skills. Experience Automotive paint or collision repair experience is helpful but not required. We will train the right candidate.
