Job Description
Position Summary We are seeking a highly skilled Level A Auto Body Technician to perform advanced collision repairs and restore vehicles to pre-accident condition in accordance with manufacturer standards. This position requires extensive experience in structural and non-structural repairs, strong diagnostic abilities, must possess mechanical experience and the capability to complete repairs independently with minimal supervision. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Perform advanced body repairs on collision-damaged vehicles Complete structural and frame repairs using measuring and straightening equipment Replace and repair welded panels, quarter panels, roofs, aprons, and structural components Analyze damage and determine proper repair procedures based on OEM guidelines Perform metal finishing, welding, panel alignment, and fitment adjustments Use hand tools, power tools, sheet metal work, and welding equipment effectively for various repair processe Disassemble and reassemble vehicles efficiently and accurately Ensure proper gaps, alignment, and overall vehicle appearance Work closely with estimators, painters, and parts department to ensure timely repairs Inspect completed repairs to ensure high-quality workmanship and safety compliance Maintain productivity and efficiency goals established by management Follow all OSHA, safety, and hazardous material handling procedures Keep work area clean, organized, and professional at all times Assist in training and mentoring junior technicians when needed Perform additional duties and assignments as directed by management or the shop manager Qualifications Minimum 3+ years of auto body repair experience preferred Strong knowledge of collision repair techniques and OEM repair procedures Extensive experience with frame machines, Mechanical work, welding equipment, and body repair tools Ability to complete repairs independently with minimal supervision I-CAR certifications and OEM certifications preferred Strong understanding of vehicle structural systems and repair standards Ability to read and interpret repair estimates and repair manuals Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record Physical Requirements Ability to stand, bend, kneel, crouch, and lift up to 50 pounds regularly Ability to work in varying temperatures and typical body shop conditions Ability to safely operate power tools, welding equipment, and repair machinery Work Environment This position works in a fast-paced collision repair facility with exposure to noise, dust, paint materials, and automotive equipment. Overtime may be required based on production demands.
