Monday•Friday 8am•5pm and an occasional Saturday when needed. Experienced Preferred! Core Responsibilities1. Pre-repair & in-process detailing Clean vehicles before repair work begins so damage is clearly visible Remove dirt, road grime, and interior debris for accurate inspection Mask and protect areas not being repaired Clean vehicles between repair stages when needed for re-evaluation 2. Post-repair finishing (delivery prep) Thorough exterior wash after bodywork and paint work Compound, polish, and buff painted panels to remove haze, overspray, or swirl marks Remove dust nibs or light paint imperfections (within detail scope, not bodywork correction) Clean wheel wells, jambs, trim, glass, and under-hood areas Apply wax, sealant, or protective coatings 3. Interior restoration Deep vacuuming and extraction cleaning (carpets, seats, mats) Steam cleaning interior surfaces when needed Remove adhesive residue, dust, and shop contamination Clean vents, dashboards, consoles, and headliners Odor removal (smoke, mildew, chemical smells) 4. Quality control support Inspect vehicle finish for missed defects (dust, buffer marks, overspray) Ensure panels are clean enough for final inspection and customer delivery Work closely with painters and body techs to correct cosmetic issues before release Key Technical Skills (More Advanced Than Standard Detailing)Paint-related knowledge Understanding of clear coat behavior and curing time Ability to identify: Buffer swirl marks Holograms from polishing Overspray or paint dust contamination Safe use of dual-action polishers and rotary buffers Light paint correction (not full repaint work) Surface preparation skills Proper decontamination (clay bar, iron remover, tar removal) Safe cleaning of fresh paint (avoiding damage to uncured surfaces) Masking sensitive trim and newly painted areas Chemical & material knowledge Safe use of solvents, degreasers, and detailing chemicals Understanding which products are safe on: Fresh paint Plastic trim Leather/vinyl interiors Avoiding chemical reactions that can damage refinished surfaces Collaboration Skills (Important in Body Shops) Communicating with body technicians, painters, and estimators Understanding repair stages (prep → bodywork → paint → reassembly → detail) Adjusting workflow based on shop schedule and production deadlines Following repair orders and delivery timelines Physical & Work Requirements Fast-paced environment with deadlines for vehicle delivery Standing, bending, lifting, and working around shop equipment Working around dust, paint fumes, and repair materials (PPE often required)
