Job Description

Transmission Technician - Join Our Chevrolet Family! Vandergriff Chevrolet is seeking a skilled and dedicated Transmission Technician to join our growing service team! Responsibilities:
Accurately diagnose and repair automatic and manual transmissions on a variety of Chevrolet vehicles. Perform thorough inspections to identify the root cause of transmission problems. Disassemble, inspect, and reassemble transmissions according to manufacturer specifications. Replace or repair worn or damaged components, including gears, clutches, seals, and bearings. Conduct necessary adjustments and calibrations to ensure proper transmission function. Perform routine maintenance on transmissions. Utilize diagnostic equipment and software to troubleshoot complex issues. Clearly and accurately document all work performed, including parts used and labor involved. Communicate effectively with service advisors regarding diagnosis, recommended repairs, and estimated completion times. Stay up-to-date on the latest automotive technology and repair procedures, particularly for Chevrolet vehicles. Adhere to all safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area.
Qualifications:
Previous experience at an automotive dealership Years of experience vary per position High school diploma or equivalent Dexterity, requiring a steady hand, excellent hand-eye coordination Positive, friendly attitude, along with a customer service mentality Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment Team player with ability to collaborate with others effectively Ability to learn new technology, repair and service procedures and specifications Able to operate electronic diagnostic equipment Valid driver's license and clean driving record Willing to submit to a pre-employment background check and drug screen
