Internship, Mechanical Engineer, Global Body Repair Business & Technical Operations (Fall 2026) Tesla Motors, Inc. paid holidays, flex time, 401(k) United States, Texas, Austin May 27, 2026 What to Expect Consider before submitting an application: This position is expected to start August or September 2026 and continue throughfall term (endingapproximately December 2026) or continuing into Winter/Spring 2027 if available and there is an opportunity to do so. We ask for a minimum of12 weeks, full-time (40 hours/week) and on-site, for most internships.

Our internship program is for students who are actively enrolled in an academic program.

Recent graduates seeking employment after graduation and not returning to school should apply for full-time positions, not internships.

If your work authorization is through CPT, please consult your school on your ability to work 40 hours per week before applying. You must be able to work 40 hours per week on-site. Many students will be limited to part-time during the academic year. As a Mechanical Engineer Intern on Tesla's Service Collision Developmentteam,you willbe responsible forspecifying anddesigning Structural Repair Procedures and service parts used to service Tesla electric vehiclesworld-wide. You will work with internal customers toidentifyand develop practical solutions to enable fast, seamless, and revolutionary service. The ideal candidate is someone who gets excited solving a variety of problems, competent building things, highly analytical, and sees the big picture needed to evolve a concept into a product. The ideal candidate is a mechanical engineer andpossessesa strong understanding of manufacturing concepts. Ifyou'resomeonewho'screative, engaging and driven, andyou'reinterested in becoming a part of a world-class team supporting Tesla's mission through the service and continued support of our customers and collision shops in the field, we are interested in hearing from you. Location - Austin, TX or Fremont, CA What You'll Do Create and present collision repair procedures to various engineering teams for review and approval Review 3D models todeterminerepairfeasibility Interact with teams of engineers and collision center to define the root cause of issue being addressed Review crash simulations Design service parts in CAD and create 2D drawings Perform hands-on investigations, lab tests, andvalidations Time management of multiple high priority projects, simultaneously Adapt to new and rapidly evolving computer software Comply withall of Tesla's safety rules, guidelines, and standards What You'll Bring Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field from ABET accredited program Experience in mechanical design and draftingpreferred Experience with 3D CAD and 2D Drawing in SolidWorks or Catia Strong experience Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) Hands on experience building mechanical systemspreferred Automotive, Aerospace, or heavy equipment industrypreferred Machine shop and fabrication experiencepreferred Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills Proven ability to research information, solve challenging problems, and coordinate projects under tight timingconstraints Excellent fundamental engineering knowledge and have examples of applied engineering success through work, projects, or academicendeavors Ability to collaborate in a fast-paced team environment: pro-active team player who thinks ahead, plans, and suggestssolutions Compensation and Benefits Benefits As a full-time Tesla Intern, you will be eligible for: Medical plans > plan options with $0 payroll deduction Family-building, fertility, adoption and surrogacy benefits Dental (including orthodontic coverage) and vision plans.
