Job Description

Body Shop Estimator Gregg Orr Auto Collection 400 N. Position Purpose:
The Body Shop Estimator appraises vehicle damage to determine the cost of repair for insurance claim settlements and customer pay repairs.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Examine damaged vehicles to determine the extent of structural, body, mechanical, or interior damage. Estimate the cost of labor and parts to repair or replace each damaged item. Review repair cost estimates with the body shop manager or foreman. In the event of a disagreement regarding repair costs, arrange for another appraisal to resolve the situation. Determine the feasibility of repair versus replacement of parts such as bumpers, fenders, and doors. Evaluate the practicality of repair versus payment of the vehicle's pre-accident market value. Determine salvage value on total vehicle losses. Prepare insurance forms detailing repair cost estimates and recommendations. Estimate costs for repainting, specialty conversions, or customization of undamaged vehicles. Follow all company safety policies and procedures, and immediately report any accidents to a manager or supervisor.
Qualifications:
A minimum of one (1) year of experience as a Body Shop Estimator is required. Must be authorized to work in the United States. Must perform all duties and responsibilities in a safe manner. Must be able to pass pre-employment testing, including background check, MVR, drug screening, and possess a valid driver's license.
