Job Summary :
The Auto Body Technician's primary responsibility and accountability includes providing an exceptional and successful customer experience through the meticulous assessment and quality repair of each customer's vehicle to restore it back to pre-accident condition. The Auto Body Technician thoroughly disassembles, repairs, and reassembles each vehicle while playing a pivotal role to our company's promise of speed, quality and customer excellence. The Auto Body Technician works in alignment with all team members in achieving the repair facilities KPIs and is committed to being a dedicated Brand Ambassador of The Boyd Group at all times. Responsibilities Perform collision repairs, including dent removal, frame straightening, and panel replacement Conduct auto body repairs using hand tools, power tools, MIG welding, and sheet metal fabrication techniques Prepare vehicles for painting by sanding, priming, and masking surfaces Apply auto paint using airless paint spraying equipment and ensure a flawless finish Replace or repair auto glass and perform detailing to meet quality standards Utilize auto estimating software to assess damages and determine repair scope Conduct vehicle maintenance tasks such as mechanical repairs, soldering, and assembly as needed Perform heavy lifting of vehicle parts and components safely and efficiently Maintain a clean and organized work area adhering to safety protocols Experience Dealership experience or prior work in an auto body shop is highly preferred Proficiency in MIG welding, soldering, and fabrication techniques Strong mechanical knowledge of vehicle systems and auto restoration processes Experience with hand tools, power tools, auto painting, and auto glass installation Knowledge of sheet metal work and auto body repair standards Familiarity with auto estimating software is a plus Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work on multiple vehicle repairs simultaneously Prior experience in automotive repair or mechanic work is advantageous Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with clients regarding repairs and estimates
