Job Overview We are seeking a skilled Auto Body Paint Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for restoring vehicles to their optimal appearance through expert painting, surface preparation, and refinishing techniques. Your craftsmanship will ensure our customers leave satisfied with their beautifully restored vehicles, contributing to our reputation for quality and excellence. Responsibilities Prepare vehicle surfaces meticulously through sanding, masking, and surface cleaning to ensure optimal paint adhesion. Apply primers, paints, and coatings using conventional spray guns and airless paint sprayers with precision and consistency. Perform auto body repairs including panel alignment, and welding to restore vehicle integrity before painting. Use automotive buffing equipment and polishing compounds to achieve a smooth, high-gloss finish on painted surfaces. Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring all tools such as grinders, hand tools, power tools, and masking materials are properly stored and maintained. Follow safety protocols diligently by using respiratory protection and adhering to environmental regulations related to paints and chemicals. Assist with auto restoration projects by performing surface preparation, detailing, and minor repairs as needed. Qualifications Proven experience in auto body repair with dealership or collision center background preferred. Strong knowledge of automotive buffing, sanding, masking, and painting techniques. Proficiency with hand tools, grinders, power tools, and spray guns including airless paint sprayers. Mechanical knowledge related to vehicle maintenance and auto glass replacement is advantageous. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail throughout the refinishing process. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with team members and clients. Valid experience in welding is a plus; familiarity with automotive surface preparation and auto estimating is beneficial.
