Job Description

Overview The Auto Glass Technician is responsible for safely repairing and replacing automotive glass, including windshields, side windows, roof glass and rear windows. This work may be performed at customer's homes or at other local businesses such as collision centers or dealerships. This role includes operating a company-provided vehicle and requires strict adherence to safe driving practices, vehicle care standards, and monitored driving performance. The technician plays a key role in ensuring vehicle safety, proper glass installation, and customer satisfaction. Key Responsibilities Assess damage to automotive glass, including chips, cracks, and shattered glass. Repair minor damage using specialized tools, resins, and approved repair methods. Replace severely damaged or broken automotive glass components. Safely remove and properly install new glass, ensuring correct fit and alignment. Calibrate Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) when applicable. Operate a company mobile service vehicle safely and responsibly at all times. Follow all traffic laws, company driving policies, and monitored vehicle safety standards. Maintain a clean, organized, and properly stocked work vehicle. Complete daily vehicle inspections and report any maintenance or safety concerns immediately. Adhere to all safety standards and use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Provide professional customer interaction, explaining repair/replacement options clearly. Deliver accurate service timeframes. Maintain detailed service records, including repairs, replacements, and calibration documentation. Complete required paperwork for billing, and company reporting systems. Perform other duties as assigned. Knowledge and Skills Up-to-date knowledge of automotive glass systems, materials, and repair techniques. Familiarity with ADAS systems and calibration procedures. Strong attention to detail, precision, and quality workmanship. Excellent customer service and communication skills. Ability to accurately document work performed and manage service records. Ability to safely operate a company vehicle under monitored driving standards. Commitment to defensive driving practices and ongoing safe driving compliance. Ability to operate a smart phone Two years or greater of on the job work experience preferred Physical/Mental Demands Combination of sitting, standing, bending, kneeling, walking, and laying on the ground. Frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds. Requires full range of body motion, manual dexterity, and strong hand-eye coordination. Requires corrected vision and hearing within normal range. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, maintenance manuals, and procedural guidelines. Pay:
$28.00 - $40.00 per hour
