Commensurate with Experience Position Summary The Tint & Trim Factory is seeking a skilled and experienced Automotive Window Tint Installer to join our team. With over 40 years of serving the Albuquerque community, we take pride in delivering premium-quality installations using industry-leading films and techniques. In this role, you will be the hands-on expert responsible for producing flawless, bubble-free tint work on a high volume of customer, dealer, and fleet vehicles. We invest in our people — offering a professional work environment, quality equipment, competitive pay, and a team that takes craftsmanship seriously. Key Responsibilities Perform precise and professional automotive window tint installations on passenger vehicles, trucks, SUVs, and dealership inventory using premium window film products. Accurately cut film by hand and/or via plotter system to achieve clean, edge-to-edge results with minimal waste. Thoroughly clean, prep, and prime windows prior to every installation — removing contaminants, adhesive residue, and prior film when required. Perform film removal and surface restoration on vehicles with existing tint, ensuring substrate integrity is preserved. Inspect completed installations for bubbles, lifting, contamination, or alignment issues and address defects before vehicle release. Maintain a steady, efficient workflow to meet daily production targets without sacrificing quality. Communicate clearly with the front desk and management regarding job status, vehicle condition issues, or material needs. Log job details accurately in the shop management software before, during, and after each installation. Advise customers and staff on film options, heat rejection performance, appearance grades, and warranty considerations when called upon. Keep the installation bay, tools, and equipment clean, organized, and ready for the next job at all times. Adhere to all applicable OSHA, EPA, and company safety standards in daily operations. Support overall shop operations as needed, including assisting with other automotive appearance services.
Qualifications & Requirements Required:
Minimum 3 years of hands-on automotive window tinting experience in a professional shop environment. Demonstrated ability to produce high-quality, production-level tint installs with minimal rework. Proficiency with both hand-cutting and computer-aided plotter cutting systems. Solid knowledge of film types, grades, and manufacturers (e.g., 3M, Llumar, Formula One, XPEL, SunTek). Valid New Mexico driver's license and clean driving record — ability to safely move customer vehicles. Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening. Strong attention to detail and a genuine pride in quality craftsmanship. Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a small team.
Preferred:
Experience with paint protection film (PPF) or ceramic coatings is a plus. Familiarity with shop management software or scheduling systems. Experience with commercial/fleet vehicle accounts or dealership volume work. Knowledge of NM window tint regulations and legal VLT limits by vehicle class. Work Environment Full-time position; standard shop hours Monday through Saturday. Work is performed indoors in a professional, climate-appropriate installation bay. Position involves prolonged standing, bending, kneeling, and close-detail visual work. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work comfortably in and around vehicles of all sizes. Compensation & Benefits Competitive hourly pay based on experience and demonstrated skill level. Performance incentives for production quality and efficiency. Paid personal leave and vacation time. Health insurance coverage options. Access to industry-leading equipment, films, and ongoing product training. Stable, long-established shop with a loyal customer base and strong community reputation.
