Mechanic

We have an opening for a Mechanic I (Entry Level) position working at a company located in Decatur, AL that refurbishes slab casters for the local steel industry. This is an evaluation-to-hire opportunity with potential for full-time placement. Skills/Qualifications A valid Driver's License is required. High school diploma or equivalent. Ability to use hand, pneumatic, and hydraulic tools. Ability to read/interpret indicators, gages, micrometers. Previous forklift and/or overhead crane experience is a plus. Previous industrial/mechanical maintenance experience is also a plus. Punctuality and dependability. Duties/Responsibilities Move machinery and equipment using hoists, dollies, rollers, and trucks. Dismantle equipment and machines using hammers, wrenches, crowbars, and other hand/power tools. Rebuild/repair equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, drawings, or verbal instructions. Perform quality work checks to ensure product meets quality standards. Perform job duties in an efficient and responsible manner. Other work may be assigned as necessary.
