Overview Join our dynamic team as a Fleet Mechanic and become a vital part of maintaining a reliable and efficient fleet of heavy equipment, trucks, and industrial machinery. In this energetic role, you will leverage your mechanical expertise to ensure all vehicles and equipment operate safely, smoothly, and efficiently. Duties Perform routine inspections, diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance on a wide range of heavy equipment, including excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, and trucks. Troubleshoot complex mechanical systems using schematics, automotive electrical systems, hydraulics, transmissions, suspension components, and air brake systems. Conduct welding, fabrication, and assembly tasks to repair or modify equipment as needed. Use power tools and hand tools to replace shocks & struts, tires, brakes, shocks & struts; ensure proper alignment and suspension functionality. Maintain detailed service records for all repairs and maintenance activities; document findings accurately for compliance and future reference. Assist with heavy lifting tasks using appropriate equipment; ensure safety protocols are followed during all repair activities. Provide exceptional customer service by communicating repair status clearly to fleet operators and ensuring minimal downtime. Skills Proven experience working as a mechanic in dealership settings or heavy equipment environments. Strong knowledge of automotive diagnostics and vehicle systems repair across various machinery types including farm machinery and industrial equipment. Expertise in fabricating parts or components using welding techniques; familiar with schematics for troubleshooting electrical or hydraulic issues. Skilled in heavy equipment operation such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and tractor-trailers. Proficient with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other maintenance tools essential for effective repairs. Ability to interpret technical manuals and schematics accurately; strong understanding of vehicle maintenance procedures including diesel engine repair and HVAC systems.
