Vehicle and Facility Maintenance Technician Fixed Base Operator (FBO) — Airport Operations Job Summary The Vehicle and Facility Maintenance Technician supports safe, efficient, and compliant FBO operations by inspecting, maintaining, and repairing ground support equipment (GSE), fuel trucks, company vehicles, and FBO facilities. The role serves aircraft, crews, passengers, and staff by ensuring that equipment, terminal areas, hangars, and other facilities remain reliable and operational. Key Responsibilities Vehicle & Ground Support Equipment (GSE) Maintenance Perform routine preventive maintenance—including oil changes, tire and fluid checks, and brake inspections—on fuel trucks, tugs and tow tractors, lavatory and potable-water service carts, belt loaders, ground power units (GPUs), and other GSE. Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on GSE and company vehicles. Conduct and document daily or pre-shift equipment inspections and maintain accurate inspection and preventive maintenance records. Verify that fuel truck calibration, filtration, and bonding and grounding systems meet applicable

NFPA 407, FAA

139, and NATA safety standards. Schedule and track vehicle/equipment registrations, inspections, and warranty service Maintain accurate maintenance and service history records for each vehicle and piece of GSE. Coordinate with outside vendors and OEMs for specialized repairs. Ensure compliance with DOT, FAA, and airport authority vehicle/ramp requirements. Facility & Ramp Maintenance Perform general plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and painting repairs in terminals, hangars, and office areas. Conduct routine inspections of hangars, terminal buildings, ramp, and fuel farm to identify maintenance needs. Respond to maintenance requests from customers, and staff in a timely manner. Maintain ramp surfaces, tie-down areas, and exterior buildings. Monitor and maintain building systems (HVAC, lighting, plumbing, fire suppression, hangar doors) Assist Operations Manager with upkeep of fuel farm equipment, fuel storage tanks, and spill containment systems. Coordinate with contractors for major repairs or specialized/capital projects. Maintain an organized inventory of maintenance supplies, tools, parts, and equipment, and keep the shop clean and orderly. Safety & Compliance Follow all safety protocols, OSHA guidelines, and airport-specific security/access procedures. Comply with TSA/airport badging and Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) requirements. Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas on the ramp and in the shop. Identify and report safety hazards, FOD (foreign object debris), and equipment deficiencies. Ensure proper storage, handling, and spill response for fuel, oil, and hazardous materials. Support emergency response procedures for fuel spills or equipment incidents. Qualifications Required High school diploma or equivalent Valid driver's license with clean driving record Ability to obtain and maintain an airport SIDA badge and successfully complete required TSA and FBI background checks. Ability to use computerized preventive maintenance tracking software. 2+ years of experience in vehicle/GSE maintenance, facilities maintenance, or related trade Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and plumbing systems Ability to use hand and power tools safely. Ability to lift more than 50 pounds, stand, bend, stoop, and walk for extended periods, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including on an active airport ramp. Preferred ASE certification(s) or equivalent trade certifications Experience with aviation ground support equipment (fuel trucks, tugs, GPUs, lav/water carts) HVAC or electrical license/certification; Roofing experience Prior experience working on or around an airport ramp/airside environment Experience with fleet or maintenance management software Work EnvironmentWork is performed in shop, hangars, terminals, and outdoor ramp environments and may involve exposure to jet fuel, engine exhaust, aircraft noise, and changing weather conditions. The position requires work near active aircraft movement areas and strict adherence to airside safety procedures. Early-morning, evening, weekend, holiday, or on-call availability may be required to support operations and emergency repairs.

Pay:

$26.00 - $28.00 per hour Expected hours: 36.0 - 50.0 per week
