Responsibilities Greet customers warmly and listen attentively to understand their vehicle issues and service needs. Prepare detailed repair estimates using estimating software, ensuring accuracy and transparency. Communicate effectively with technicians to relay customer concerns and gather diagnostic information. Upsell additional services such as oil changes, tire rotations, alignments, brake repairs, shocks & struts, transmissions, suspension work, and other automotive repairs. Manage the flow of work orders from start to finish, ensuring timely updates and completion of services. Handle cash transactions accurately and maintain proper documentation for all service sales. Maintain strong client communication by explaining repairs clearly, answering questions, and providing recommendations for vehicle maintenance. Utilize automotive diagnostics knowledge to assist in estimating repairs and troubleshooting issues when needed. Keep detailed records of all customer interactions, repairs performed, and parts used to ensure transparency and accountability. Requirements Proven experience as an automotive service writer or in a similar auto service management role; dealership experience is highly preferred. Strong mechanical knowledge with familiarity in automotive diagnostics, collision repair, transmissions, oil changes, wheel alignments, suspension systems, tire services, shocks & struts, brake repair, and other automotive repairs. Proficiency with estimating software and computer-aided vehicle damage estimating tools. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients of varying backgrounds. Ability to upsell services confidently while maintaining integrity and customer trust. Experience with auto estimating processes and familiarity with dealership procedures is a plus. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; ability to drive company vehicles if required. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail; ability to handle cash transactions accurately. Mechanical experience or background as a service technician is advantageous for understanding technical aspects of repairs.
