Job Description
Job purpose The RV Service Technician must troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair issue/s on recreational vehicles in the mobile service, in-house service, rental, and consignment departments. Duties and responsibilities • Provide and document complete diagnostic test/s and repair/s or replacement services to RVs Perform electrical, generator, plumbing, carpentry, appliance , roof maintenance and/or repairs, ect. Provide routine maintenance and/or repairs to the exterior and interior of RVs Track all parts and materials used in repairs and/or replacements Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned in repairing RVs Explain proper operation of vehicle systems to customers when necessary Qualifications High School Diploma or GED Experience preferred Able to work independently Able to multitask Attention to detail Ability to operate all shop equipment Must be able to read, comprehend service literature and/or parts manuals Record labor time, parts, and/or services utilized on repair order forms A good driving record Pass drug screen exam Working conditions While performing the duties of this job, the RV Technician is frequently exposed to a variety of extreme hot, cold, humid, and/or rainy weather conditions as wells as dust and dirt because the job duties require the RV Technician to work indoors and/or outdoors. The RV Technician may at times have to complete repair/s, diagnostics, and or troubleshoot issue/s in RVs which may place the technician in smaller and/or confined spaces at times. Physical requirements The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met in order to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The RV Technician is frequently required to stand for long periods of time with continuous bending, reaching, twisting, stooping, lifting, lying flat, climbing, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and stepping throughout the day. The RV Technician must frequently lift or move more than 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. The RV Technician must be able to hear and see in order to operate company vehicle/s, customer vehicle/s, and/or machinery safely. The Technician must have the ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences. The technician must havethe ability to quickly move hand/s, hand/s together with arm/s, and/or two hands to grasp, lift, manipulate, or assemble objects. The technician must have the ability to think critically and problem solve. Part-time employees are those who are regularly assigned to work less than 20-30 hours. Full-time employees are those who are regularly assigned to work 40 hours. This position requires occasionally working Saturdays and/ or Sundays .
