Duties Greet customers warmly, listen to their vehicle concerns, and accurately document service requests. Explain repair and maintenance options clearly, providing detailed estimates using estimating software. Upsell additional services such as oil changes, tire rotations, brake repairs, suspension work, or transmission diagnostics to maximize customer value. Coordinate with technicians to prioritize repairs, ensuring timely completion of services while maintaining quality standards. Manage service writing tasks efficiently, including creating detailed repair orders and updating customers on progress. Conduct vehicle inspections and utilize automotive diagnostics tools to identify issues accurately. Handle cash transactions and process payments securely while maintaining accurate records. Communicate effectively with clients regarding vehicle status, repair recommendations, and maintenance schedules to foster trust and satisfaction. Skills Proven experience in auto service management or as a service technician with strong mechanical knowledge. Familiarity with estimating software and computer-aided vehicle damage estimating tools. Solid understanding of automotive diagnostics, repairs (including brakes, shocks & struts, transmissions), and routine maintenance (oil changes, tire service). Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly and professionally. Ability to upsell services confidently while ensuring customer needs are met authentically. Experience working in a dealership environment or collision repair setting is highly desirable. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in estimating, service writing, and cash handling processes. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; driving experience is essential for test drives or vehicle inspections.
