Elevate the mission. If you thrive on precision mechanical work and spacecraft hardware integration, this lead technician role puts you at the center of flight‑worthy builds. You'll set the standard for harness fabrication, structure assembly, and environmental readiness — and mentor others while doing it. What will you do? Translate preliminary designs, blueprints, and schematics into hands‑on assembly plans for both production and laboratory needs. Assemble/integrate to tight tolerances, selecting the best methods to meet engineering requirements. Operate hydraulic/cooling test consoles, alignment and installation fixtures, heated tools, ovens, positioners, lift equipment, cranes, alignment systems, and hand/power tools. Define operation sequences; install components; run full leak/pressure tests; and verify alignment of control surfaces. Carefully install delicate MLI and support SLI applications on test and flight articles; adhere to all specifications. Assist engineers at designated test stations, log and analyze data, and produce clear reports with charts/graphs. Gain/maintain required certifications; perform rework and incidental tasks with minimal oversight. Apply expert knowledge of materials/process specifications and core mechanical principles; train and support teammates across related trades. Support range operations, including testing, integration, and hardware moves. Where will you work? Onsite, full‑time. This position is 100% on location at one of the listed site options. What do you need to bring? High School Diploma or GED 4+ years assembling high‑reliability mechanical products Proven experience building/terminating high‑quality wiring harnesses for racks and boxes Comfort with scalpels, scissors, hollow punches, and similar tools Fluency in mechanical drawings, schematics, harness diagrams, and applicable specs Measurement proficiency: calipers, micrometers, digital multimeters (DMM) Experience with assembly tooling and/or composites fabrication/assembly Proficiency with a wide range of hand and power tools Experience mixing epoxy materials What helps you stand out? 5+ years in integration 1+ year working with MLI/thermal blankets J‑STD‑001 space and
