Job Description

Classic / Custom Car Mechanic Position Overview We are seeking a skilled Hot Rod / Classic Car Mechanic to join our team. This role is for an experienced technician who can take ownership of complex builds, diagnose and solve problems independently, and deliver high‑quality craftsmanship on vintage, custom, and performance vehicles. You will work on everything from full wiring jobs to engine swaps, minor fabrication, mechanical assembly, and full custom builds. This is not an entry‑level position. We are looking for someone who can hit the ground running. Key Responsibilities Perform high‑level mechanical work on classic cars, hot rods, and custom builds Complete full or Fabricate brackets, partial wiring jobs (Painless, American Autowire, custom harnesses, etc.) Diagnose electrical and mechanical issues with accuracy and efficiency Execute engine swaps, drivetrain installs, suspension upgrades, and brake system overhauls Fabricate mounts, and small components as needed Maintain clean, organized work habits and consistent workflow Communicate clearly with the team regarding progress, parts needs, and obstacles Deliver high‑quality work that meets shop standards and customer expectations Required Experience 5+ years working on classic cars, hot rods, or custom vehicles Strong understanding of automotive electrical systems Proven ability to work independently Experience with custom wiring, mechanical assembly, and fabrication Ability to diagnose and solve problems quickly and accurately Familiarity with aftermarket parts, performance upgrades, and custom components Preferred Experience Experience with full vehicle builds Carbureted and minor EFI knowledge Welding and fabrication skills Ability to manage or mentor junior techs What We're Looking For Someone who takes pride in craftsmanship A problem solver who doesn't get stuck A technician who can maintain pace without sacrificing quality A team player who communicates well and keeps projects moving Someone who understands the expectations of high‑end custom work
