Fountain Valley, CA Pay Rate:
$27.00-$32.00/hour We are seeking an experienced Automotive Warranty Technical Specialist to support warranty investigations, parts analysis, and technical review activities. This temporary opportunity is ideal for an ASE-certified technician or automotive professional with strong diagnostic, mechanical, and electrical troubleshooting expertise. Key Responsibilities Conduct hands-on investigations of returned automotive parts and components. Perform mechanical and electrical diagnostics, inspections, testing, and root cause analysis. Review repair orders, technician notes, repair histories, and service documentation to determine warranty eligibility and identify non-warrantable claims. Analyze repair trends, high-volume replacement parts, warranty claims data, and recurring product concerns. Utilize diagnostic tools, scan tools, testing equipment, and specialized service tools to evaluate component performance. Document findings, photographs, and technical recommendations within internal systems. Provide detailed malfunction analysis and corrective action recommendations. Collaborate with technical teams to support service bulletins, training materials, and process improvements. Install and evaluate components on test vehicles when required to validate repairs and duplicate customer concerns. Communicate investigation results professionally with dealerships and internal stakeholders. Qualifications Current ASE Master Technician certification , equivalent automotive technical certification, or a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering . Strong experience with automotive diagnostics, troubleshooting, repair, and component analysis. Knowledge of automotive repair procedures, technical service bulletins (TSBs), warranty processes, and diagnostic software. Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and prepare technical documentation. Excellent communication and customer service skills.
