In this role, you will be responsible for performing state-mandated emissions tests on a variety of vehicles, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations while delivering exceptional customer service. Your expertise will help keep vehicles running efficiently and contribute to a cleaner environment. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in automotive diagnostics and vehicle inspection within a fast-paced, energetic setting. Duties Conduct thorough smog check inspections on all types of vehicles in accordance with state regulations and manufacturer guidelines Utilize specialized diagnostic tools, hand tools, and power tools to perform emissions testing accurately and efficiently Perform basic vehicle maintenance tasks such as inspecting and replacing filters, sensors, and other components as needed during the testing process Assist customers by explaining test procedures, results, and recommended next steps clearly and professionally Maintain detailed records of each inspection, ensuring all documentation complies with regulatory standards Identify potential mechanical issues during inspections that may require further automotive repair or auto body work Support vehicle maintenance and auto restoration projects when necessary, including heavy lifting and the use of automotive repair equipment Experience Must have 0.40 or above. Prior experience working with automotive service or repair is highly preferred, especially in emissions testing or smog check procedures Mechanical knowledge of vehicle systems, auto body repair, and general automotive repair techniques is essential Hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment used in automotive environments Familiarity with vehicle maintenance routines and auto restoration processes enhances effectiveness in this role Mechanic experience or certifications related to automotive repair will be considered a strong asset Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail Join our team to play a vital role in vehicle safety and environmental compliance!
