The Mechanic Fleet Maintenance Forman oversees, coordinates, and performs the mechanical repair and servicing of all transportation equipment and handles various administrative duties involved with operation of shop facility. Shift will be 2nd/3rd shift and will be discussed further in the interview process. This is a union facility/role. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Work directly with transportation supervisor. Assign priority of work to mechanics and process repair work orders. Assists in repair, diagnosis, and other tasks involved in equipment repairs. Administer in-house and external repairs of fleet tractors, trailers, and reefers. Ensure all maintenance management documentation and equipment is in compliance with DOT regulations. Manage departments invoicing. Professionally interact directly with fleet industry vendors for parts/supply ordering, repair matters, and fleet support. Perform routine DOT BIT inspections. Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties. Ensures that shop area is clean, organized, and in compliance. Must be able to work all shifts. Perform other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Minimum 1 year mechanic experience in a related field (Fleet maintenance, Tractor Trailor, etc.) 1 year leadership experience Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook Mechanic Certifications Preferred Qualifications Welding Certification Demonstrates strong leadership skills and works well with a team Possesses detailed knowledge of shop industry Exhibits strong customer service, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Possesses solid analytical and problem-solving abilities Demonstrates awareness safety protocols Able to multi-task effectively, detail orientated and manages time efficiently Proficiency in Microsoft Access Communicates clearly and effectively Education Verifiable High School Diploma or GED Anticipated Weekly Hours 40 Time Type Full time Pay Range The typical pay range for this role is: $0.00 - $0.00 This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.
