Responsible for the safe and timely performance of regular service, maintenance, and repair work on lift trucks; Responsible for ensuring forklift fleet remain in sound mechanical and operational condition, maximizing utilization while minimizing repair/maintenance costs and downtime.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Essential Functions include but are not limited to: Service, inspect, diagnose, and repair forklifts, systems and components timely and efficiently ensuring regulatory compliance and safe operation. Replace broken or defective parts from stock parts and/or assist with ordering replacement parts for frequent repairs. Interpret manufacturer's technical manuals and regulatory standards to perform the necessary maintenance and repairs needed. Perform routine, emergency and preventative maintenance of forklifts. Interpret manufacturer's technical manuals to perform the necessary maintenance and repairs needed. Troubleshoot, repair and maintain forklift problems to include brake, electrical, fuel, battery and hydraulic systems, detect imperfections, potential problems (structural, mechanical, etc.), safety issues and/or malfunctions. Diagnose and repair mast and attachment components. Repair and maintain LP, gas and diesel systems. Replace broken or defective parts from stock parts and/or order replacement parts for major repairs. Reassemble forklifts and make all necessary adjustments for effective and safe operation. Perform safety inspection of forklifts prior to being released back to the work floor. Implement and maintain 5S - Clean equipment, tools, work areas and other job-related areas as required to maintain safety and cleanliness. Ensure work area and methods used in carrying out job duties comply with all safety requirements. Maintain an organized and neat work area. Assist with ordering and maintaining inventory levels for parts, supplies and equipment needed to perform tasks. Assist with upkeep and maintenance of all facilities related equipment. Maintain in -house electronic applications to include, mileage reports, purchase requisitions, work orders, and equipment apps. Complete and maintain legible service documents and logs for preventative maintenance tasks and update electronic systems as required. Learn new technical information and techniques to stay current with changing technology. Maintain thankful, respectful, polite, and courteous attitude. Other duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or GED (required). Ability to obtain and maintain forklift certification and applicable state certification for forklifts. Manufacturing, automotive, military or recent trade school graduates with applied skills preferred or 1+ years of experience in a related field, including maintenance of various lift trucks brands with ratings up to 14,000lbs. Foundation of mechanical aptitude and ability Knowledge of industrial electricity up to 440 volts preferred. Able to work safely and follow company rules, policies and procedures. Valid driver's license and ability to pass background check, drug screen and physical. Good written and oral communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively. Accuracy and attention to detail is absolutely required, as well as a track record of reliability, confidentiality, and conscientious work habits. Ability to work independently, with little supervision, and to organize and prioritize effectively. Ability to adapt and work efficiently in a rapidly changing dynamic environment with deadline pressures. Ability to read and interpret documents such as equipment repair, maintenance and procedure manuals, work instructions, etc. Ability to foster a cooperative and collaborative work environment.Job Type :
