Automotive Technician Job Description Take your automotive expertise to the next level. Join a team where your diagnostic skills and technical knowledge make a real difference. As an Automotive Technician, you'll be responsible for diagnosing and repairing complex vehicle systems, from powertrain components to advanced electrical and electronic technologies. Leveraging OEM tools like XENTRY/Star Diagnostic, you'll identify root causes, implement effective solutions, and help elevate the team's performance by providing hands-on guidance to junior technicians. Every repair you complete will meet the highest factory and dealership quality standards. Responsibilities + Perform advanced diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on vehicles, including engine, transmission, electrical, and electronic systems. + Utilize OEM diagnostic tools (XENTRY/Star Diagnostic) to identify and resolve complex issues. + Lead and support junior technicians with troubleshooting and technical guidance. + Ensure all work meets factory standards and dealership quality expectations. + Complete repair orders accurately, including detailed documentation of work performed. + Perform road tests and quality checks to confirm proper vehicle operation. + Stay current with training, certifications, and technical service bulletins. Essential Skills + 5+ years of experience as an automotive technician, with preference for experience with our vehicles. + Mercedes-Benz certifications or equivalent OEM certifications are highly preferred. + Advanced knowledge of electrical systems, diagnostics, and drivability concerns. + Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. + Valid driver's license. Additional Skills & Qualifications + ASE certifications. + Experience mentoring or leading technicians. + Familiarity with dealership service processes and warranty procedures. Work Environment The role requires the use of advanced diagnostic tools and equipment, with a focus on maintaining high-quality standards. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Oceanside, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $48.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
