Job Overview We are seeking a customer-focused Automotive Service Writer to join our service team. In this vital role, you will serve as the primary point of contact between customers and our service department, ensuring a smooth, transparent, and positive experience for every client. Your energetic approach will help facilitate vehicle repairs, maintenance services, and diagnostics while providing exceptional customer service. You will utilize your mechanical knowledge and estimating skills to accurately assess vehicle needs, prepare detailed repair orders, and communicate effectively with both customers and technicians. Responsibilities Greet customers warmly and listen carefully to understand their vehicle concerns and service needs Write detailed service estimates using estimating software, ensuring accuracy in parts, labor, and additional repairs Communicate clearly with customers about recommended repairs, costs, timelines, and vehicle status updates Upsell additional services or maintenance based on vehicle diagnostics and customer needs to enhance safety and vehicle performance Coordinate with technicians to prioritize repairs, review diagnostics results, and ensure timely completion of services Maintain accurate records of all transactions including cash handling, invoices, and repair orders Assist in managing customer follow-ups to ensure satisfaction and foster long-term loyalty Experience Proven experience as a Service Writer or in an automotive dealership environment with a strong understanding of automotive diagnostics and repair processes Mechanical experience or background as a service technician is highly desirable to facilitate effective communication with technicians Familiarity with estimating software platforms used in auto service management (MITCHELL 1) Knowledge of automotive systems such as transmissions, brakes, suspension components (shocks & struts), tire services, oil changes, and collision repair procedures Excellent client communication skills with the ability to explain technical issues clearly and professionally Experience in upselling services while maintaining integrity and customer trust Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; ability to drive company vehicles when necessary Join us if you're passionate about automotive repair and eager to deliver outstanding customer experiences! Pay:
$55,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
