Position Summary:
The mechanic is an experienced automotive professional responsible for diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and wiring-related vehicle concerns. This position requires strong technical expertise, independent problem-solving skills, and the ability to complete accurate, high-quality repairs in accordance with OEM procedures and Nex Automotive standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Accurately diagnose mechanical, electrical, wiring, network, and module-related vehicle issues using appropriate diagnostic tools, OEM scan tools, software, and testing methods. Perform mechanical and electrical repairs in accordance with OEM procedures and company standards. Complete electrical diagnostics, fault isolation, wire and circuit repair, circuit reconstruction, and harness repair. Perform root-cause analysis and resolve complex or escalated technical issues. Safely remove and install vehicle components, including dash components, airbags, headliners, sunroofs, and related systems when required for diagnosis or repair. Test drive vehicles as needed to verify proper operation and confirm repairs have been successfully completed. Maintain accurate Repair Orders (ROs) and document all diagnostics, repairs, and services performed. Upload required photos, scan reports, measurements, and other supporting documentation. Clearly document repair findings, recommendations, and completed work. Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to other technicians as needed. Maintain tools, diagnostic equipment, and work areas in a safe and professional condition.
Knowledge and Skills:
Advanced automotive mechanical, electrical, and diagnostic repair experience. Strong understanding of OEM repair procedures, wiring diagrams, diagnostic processes, and industry best practices. Experience with electrical fault isolation, wiring and harness repair, and module setup. Proficiency with OEM scan tools, diagnostic software, laptops, tablets, and related technology. Strong troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, organization, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Strong time-management skills and ability to manage multiple repair priorities. Professional verbal and written communication skills. Ability to accurately document repairs and technical findings. Valid driver's license and ability to safely operate vehicles.
Physical/Mental Demands:
Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and work at floor level for extended periods. Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds. Requires manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and full range of body motion. Requires corrected vision and hearing within normal ranges. Ability to read and interpret safety rules, OEM repair procedures, operating instructions, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals. Ability to maintain professionalism and composure in a fast-paced automotive shop environment.
Compensation & Benefits:
