We have opportunities for Class A or B mechanics seeking experience with electric vehicle (EV) and diesel commercial vehicle and bus fleets. This role includes skilled, semi-skilled, or entry level mechanical work that focuses on servicing and repairing motor coach buses and commercial vehicles. Key Highlights Flexible workweek schedules Innovative opportunities with rapidly expanding EV fleet Ongoing professional development with paid training as well as fleet OEM, EV, SAE, and other certification programs Dynamic, energetic work environment Union Pension and Benefits Convenient San Francisco location Key Job Responsibilities Perform diagnostic tests and procedures using a variety of equipment, devices and electronic tools Perform preventive maintenance tasks on motor coaches Operate servicing equipment such as jacks, hydraulic hoists, battery chargers, pumps, steamers, etc. as instructed Perform routine mechanical repairs and adjustments; remove, replace or exchange parts, as required Inspect engines, transmissions, hydraulic, and electrical systems in order to identify problems or malfunctions and report problems for diagnosis Assist in the more complex repairs in order to gain additional skills. Make field "trouble calls" and attempt to repair equipment through standard checks, adjustments, or exchanging parts in the field. Maintain service records and process appropriate paperwork. Qualifications Knowledge of general mechanic principles, to include the basic practices used in servicing and making minor mechanical repairs and adjustments Knowledge of the mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems common to heavy duty vehicles Experience with the use of computerized diagnostic equipment and softwares Ability to perform strenuous activity common to the trade. Ability to read and interpret electrical wiring diagrams, service manuals, and other reference materials Ability to perform routine, repetitive, and minor/major mechanical repairs and adjustments on vehicles Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing Training & Experience 1+ years experience in servicing and maintenance work on heavy equipment Technical college training in diesel or heavy duty equipment mechanics may be substituted for experience Other combinations of training and/or experience which can be demonstrated to result in the possession of the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to perform the duties of this position will also be considered Experience servicing electric vehicles is a plus Possession of a valid Class B California Commercial Driver's License with Passenger and Airbrake endorsements is a plus Job Details Pay Type Hourly Hiring Min Rate 49 USD Scan this QR code and apply!
